Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app NAPOLEON — Ride & Rest (the “App”) and to the website napoleonapp.org (the “Website”). The App and Website are provided by NAPOLEON, Via Giuseppe Mazzini 44, 10059 Susa (TO), Italy (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at pitstop@napoleonapp.org.

For the limited personal data we process (only when you email us), we act as data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Summary

• No sign-up, no account, no login.
• No servers of ours store or receive your App content.
• No analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs.
• The Website sets no cookies and collects no personal data.

3. Data in the app

The App is an offline trip organizer. The content you create is stored only locally on your iPhone, inside the App's private storage. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. This includes:

Because we never receive this data, we cannot see, access, recover or delete it for you. You stay in full control: you can edit or delete entries in the App, and deleting the App removes its data from your device.

4. Photos

You can add photos to your journal by tapping Add Photos and picking images from your photo library. The App stores a local copy of each photo you choose, inside the App's storage on your iPhone, so it remains available in your journal.

The App does not browse or scan your library. Access to photos is requested only at the moment you tap Add Photos, and only if iOS requires a permission for that action. You can review or change photo access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

5. What the app does not use

The App does not access or use:

• your location (GPS or otherwise);
• the camera or the microphone;
• your contacts or calendar;
• push or local notifications;
• tracking of any kind — the App does not track you across apps or websites and does not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) because it does not track;
• analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.

6. iCloud and device backups

Like most iOS apps, the App's local data may be included in your iCloud Backup or in a backup of your iPhone made with a computer, depending on your iOS settings. Such backups are created and managed by Apple and by you, not by us, and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to them. You can manage backups in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

7. This website

napoleonapp.org is a static website. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no external fonts and no third-party scripts, and it does not collect personal data. Like any web server, our hosting provider may process technical data (such as IP address and request time) in short-lived server logs, which are needed to deliver and secure the site; we do not use them to identify or profile visitors.

8. Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to reply to you and help with your request. We do not use it for marketing and do not share it with third parties, except our email hosting provider, which stores messages on our behalf. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and then delete it.

9. Legal basis

When you contact us, we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where your request relates to using the App, to take steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

10. Children

The App and Website are not directed to children under 13 years of age (under 14 in Italy). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Since App data stays on your device, you exercise these rights directly in the App. For any data we hold from your emails, write to pitstop@napoleonapp.org.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it). You may also contact the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

12. Changes to this policy

If the App's data practices change, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
